PROBING SYSTEM WITH OPTICAL TRANSMISSION FOR CNC LATHES AND TURNING CENTRES

Mida E83 TXL50 optical transmission system for lathes is designed to meet application needs for workpiece inspection on lathe and turning centre. The very compact transmitter dimensions enable its use also on machines with restricted working area and small tool holders.

The exceptional performances of the optical transmitter such as transmission distance, battery life, resistance to hot chips and pressure coolant, grant the use of Mida™ touch probes even in the harshest environment obtaining high production quality.

As option, the TXL50 optical transmitter can be used with the RXI optical receiver with integrated interface reducing installation cost and wiring operation time.

SYSTEM PERFORMANCES / CHARACTERISTICS
Transmission type: mono-directional infrared optical transmission
Transmission distance: over 3 meters
Transmitted signals: Probe status
Battery status
Transmission status
Turn on / off method: optical on / Time out off (programmable)
optical on / optical off
Battery life: 250 h in continuous working; 18 months in stand-by
Power supply: lithium 3V battery type CR123A
Tightness degree according to the IEC EN60529 standard: IP68

The system is activated by an optical signal emitted from the receiver to the transmitter through an M-code command sent from the machine CNC to the E83 interface.

The transmission is automatically deactivated when the time, set by means of some switches located inside the transmitter battery housing, expires or by M-code command.

E83 TXL50 optical transmission system allows the installation of up to 4 transmitters on the same machine, permitting the installation of multiple probes in double turret machines. They can be activated one by one by means of specific optical signals sent by the receiver. This allows the use of several probes with different features or with different stylus configuration on the same machine and the application of more transmitters on lathes and on double-spindle turning centres.
