E83 optical transmission system for Marposs Mida™ probes, is designed to meet application needs for workpiece inspection on machining centres and milling machines.
It is composed of a transmitter, receiver and interface unit. The probe status is sent from the transmitter using an infrared signal to the receiver. This signal is decoded by the interface unit into a suitable form to be processed by the machine tool CNC.

E83 product range includes several transmitter, receiver and interface unit versions, extremely compact and user friendly allowing the installation of a Marposs touch probe on virtually any machine tool type. The transmitter is available with different switch on / switch off options and optical transmission fields oriented towards 45°, 70° or 90°.

The E83 Compact has been designed for installation inside the machine tool cabinet on a DIN rail TS35. Its compact dimensions and the I/O connection by means of removable terminals reduce the wiring operation time and decrease the installation costs.

As an alternative to the usual optical receiver, the E83 RXI with integrated interface is also available. It has the twin function of receiver and interface and consequently, has the benefit of reduced installation time. Moreover the E83 RXI also permits the option of reducing its receiving capability in order to avoid possible interference with other adjacent optical systems.

System modularity allows the use of E83 optical transmitters with a wide range of Mida touch probes according to the specific application needs.
