Mida
E86 Radio Frequency Transmission System, with its wide transmission range,
is particularly suitable for part probing applications and workpiece inspection
on large milling machines, 5-axis machining centers & FMC.
Furthermore the extreme, compact dimension of the transmitter module also
allows its installation on conventional machine tools for non line of
sight probing operations.
The transmitting module, receiving antennas and machine interface unit
are combined into a standard set, easily mounted on your machine tool
for part inspection and machine coordinate setting.

The
system can be activated either by a radio signal controlled by an M-code
command sent from the machine CNC to the E86 interface unit, or when
the probe/shank is inserted into the spindle by means of the switch
placed on the shank.
The transmission is automatically deactivated when the time, set by
means of some switches located inside the transmitter battery housing
expires.
In addition, the E86 radio transmission system allows the use of up
to four probes on a single machine tool using the same radio transmission
channel.
Each probe can be individually selected and activated by means of a
different CNC M-code command.
The combination of transmission channels and codes gives the ability
to install up to 64 probes in a single plant.
Two antennas can be connected to the E86 interface unit to increase
the transmission range and to improve transmission reliability.
Type approved:
Different versions of the E86 radio transmission system are available
and comply with international rules concerning radio transmissions including
Part 15 of the FCC Rules (USA and Canada) and R&TTE directive (Europe).
Powerful:
It allows communication even when transmission path does not allow line
of sight between transmitter and receiver.
The wide transmission range allows installation on very large milling
machine tools.
Reliable:
E86 probing system is designed and inspected to assure high performance
in hostile machine tool environments, increasing machine tool productivity
and workpiece quality.
The modularity of the system allows you to select the most suitable
Mida probe for a variety of machine applications.
SYSTEM COMPONENTS:
Transmitter
It sends a probe status signal to the receiver using radio transmission.
Two types of transmitters are available based on the type of the transmission
activation.

Antenna
It receives the radio signal sent by the transmitter. The antenna is
connected to the E86 interface unit by means of a shielded cable and
can be fixed using its magnetic base. A series of LEDs indicate the
strength of the signal received.

E86 Interface unit
It processes the data received by the antenna and provides direct input
to the machine's CNC. The E86 interface is designed to be located inside
the machine's electrical cabinet using a DIN rail (TS35). The I/O and
receiver connections to the unit are made by removable cable clamps
reducing the wiring and installation time.
