Arms for tool check

Marposs Mida Tool Eye™ is a line of tool setting arms with high precision that are permanently mounted in the machine.

The application consists of a fixed base and a mobile arm. The arm is moved into the measuring position:

by the machine operator (manual version)
automatically, driven by a motor (electric version)

A touch probe is fitted on the mobile arm. When the arm is in the home position, the probe is inside a protective metal housing.
The flexible, modular system is easy to mount. The arm can be used on any type of machine regardless of the tool type or spindle used.

Marposs Mida Set™ is an arm with high positioning repeatability, which can be inserted and removed manually, for tool inspection and checking on lathes.
The arm consists of a fixed base permanently mounted next to the spindle. The removable arm can be fitted to the fixed base with a twist of a lever. A touch probe is fitted on the mobile part of the arm. The sealed fixed base cover protects the electrical connections from chips and coolant during machining.
The modular, flexible system is easy to mount, meaning that it can be used on any type of machine regardless of the tools and spindles used.

Marposs Mida Tool Eye™ and Mida Set™ are supplied with an LED on the probe support which indicates when the tool has made contact with the probe stylus.

To allow the exchange of signals with the CNC, arms are connected to the machine by an E32A series electronic interface, which also supplies power to the probe.
